I'm off to ALIA Information Online conference this week - how exciting!
Planning to get lots of crafting done in between librarian-ing (and on the planes there and back if they don't confiscate my crochet hook)

Some meetups are planned (finding some new (perhaps crafty) librarians should be fun) and I'm hoping to find a few moments to trek around and visit some yarn shops!

I find these kind of events super-exhausting so hope I can enjoy it all without getting sick or grumpy - otherwise I may end up like this!

Firefly fibers

You may remember the fiber I won from Inspiration Fibers recently - well you can probably imagine my excitement to see Amanda's new range of Firefly inspired creations! Joss Whedon is well known to be supportive and lovely about his fans' crafty endeavours (CrochetMe interview) - so I'm sure he'd love these too! 

Thought I'd leave off the colourway names so you can guess which fiber is inspired by which Firefly character!

Choices and an update

Just got my first Shunklies batt completey spun up ^_^ Turned out to be about 180 meters which will be enough to let me do something fun.

Just unplaited and started on the second colour - but realised I need to decide first on whether I want to keep these as singles or ply them up (so the spin ends up the correct way)... My handspun is not that even yet, but they do look pretty as singles. Any thoughts?

 

Oh - also, I've once again updated the Mobius Mitts pattern. This time it's just an aesthetic update reflecting the feedback from recent testers. Have tried to make the photos more clear - Thanks to testers mallallory and DanaBeth and Misty for the yarn ^_^

New gloves! and I even managed to incorporate some of my new hand-spun ^_^ happy! Not sure if I'm quite ready to go all out on a hand-spun knit yet as it's a rather bright colour combination

There were knit from my Mobius Mitts v2 pattern - but I used DK instead of Bulky so they turned out much smaller and more like wrist warmers. View on Ravelry | Etsy

Wednesday wonders - feymuse's Doctors 10 and 11

After my posting spree during the Christmas holidays I thought it might be good to try and keep this up a little by pre-scheduling some weekly posts. Eee ^_^ I really needed a pick-me-up today - lots of stuff going on and feeling anxious. This wonderful fluff was in my mail box :D I won this from Inspiration Fibers via Phat Fiber . It's so much bigger than I expected! Thank you! Really made my day!
