As a well-intended attempt to make myself clean up my desk, I decided to turn an old shoe/boots box into to a desk container with different compartments.



I made the middle sections from parts of cereal boxes, but out lots of scenic pictures from newspaper, and covered the box with colour :)

My newest project is a 'Dugong pretending to be a shark'. I have so far created two dugongs and am working on the fins to go on top!



I am writing up this one as a pattern as I go, he should be a quick, fun knit. I will probably add it to Etsy when it is done ^.^ (download free PDF). Perhaps I will also have a go at selling the blue dugong on Etsy, once I have got over my fear of postage!

My grandma likes making cakes for her friends and family and enjoys carrying them around the their houses in a container like this (but less pink) :p



This week the handle on her container broke & mum suggested I have a go at making one out of macramé cord. This was a great opportunity to try out the interesting things I had been reading on This Year's Dozen. This is how it turned out:

Have finally got myself around to creating a pattern to sell on Etsy. Very excited, and even if it doesn't get sold, it was fun to create a permanent pattern for my creation Fuzzy Hippo on Etsy

This little guy was created for my friend’s birthday. The design was based on his performance character ‘Eaton Fudge’. He is about 15cm tall as far as I can remember.



He was quite fun to create because I had to make him in such a short space of time. His jacket failed the first time, ending up too bulky, but then I re-did it and it worked out quite nicely.



My favourite part to do was the hat. I wish I had kept a record of the pattern for this one :)

Lately I have been working on this monkey in a bucket! He was originally drawn by tim as a wallpaper here


but now i have crocheted him and he is full of rice and very hugable. The most trouble was how to get the face right, it is very difficult to take a flat image and turn him into 3d woollyness and retain the facial expression.

I realised the other day that it was my housemates birthday and that I only had an hour left to make her something. This was what i came up with:

cut yarn leaving a long tail and pull yarn through remaining loop

Feet (make two)
1. chain 2

3. *inc, cr4* rpt = 5
4. cr 1 row
5. *inc3 in one stitch, slip1* rpt = 11
6. tie off & sew to body

Add a little plaited sprout of hair to the top, sew on some eyes & he is done :)
