Today I have another feature on projects created in 2014.
Today's pattern is my newest one - Chiaroscuro fingerless gloves
Thanks to those who have shared their photos and experiences!
This month has been all about unicorns! Gifts for some very special babies - great fun to make.
Thanks to @kimtairi for the unicorn inspiration!
When looking on as a non-logged in user, Pinterest has always frustrated me. Its gated preview (where you can temptingly see a board for a second, then are prompted to log in), and its dubious attribution, made me hesitate to join up. However I've finally given in, and have enjoyed gathering together a set of dresses to inspire sewing ideas.
Follow Pixelated's board Dresses - Sewing inspiration on Pinterest.
It's certainly a useful tool for visually grouping inspiration, and storing associated links.
Now I just need to find some sewing patterns that match up with all my pictures... then actually sew things...
With my newest design project going along fairly well, this week I've taken a break and started some simple socks with some Heirloom Jigsaw yarn gifted to me by @pohmieathome ^_^
Colour 75 has long stretches of bright pink with dashes of purple - which I didn't feel went well with the other colours - so I am removing the pink sections as I go. I quite like the remaining combination - it seems beach-y.
To finish the year, I'm featuring some of the special projects that have sprung up for various patterns. It's so inspiring to see everyone's individual colour choices and creativity!

Happy Christmas everyone!
Hope everyone had some lovely celebrations. It was great to see the new Christmas Tree TARDIS projects
springing up over December.
I only managed one gift-knit this year - some Randiriel socks for my Mum. They fit! Hooray!
Pattern: Randiriel socks by Alexandra Wiedmayer (travelling cables variation)
Sock knitting is becoming more enjoyable over time - and I love the look and process of knitting patterns with travelling cables.
For this pattern, the heel and toe are not provided. I am still a little unfamiliar with heels so used the heel from the Rick socks.

For Christmas celebrations we also baked some almond fingers (below), baklava, and cherry slice for family gatherings, and some Pumpkin, sage and ricotta lasagna for Christmas dinner with my family.
